Southern Chiefs Economic Development LP (SCED LP) was formalized in the summer of 2022 to help enhance and strengthen the economic base of the 34 Anishinaabe and Dakota Nations that are members of the Southern Chiefs’ Organization Inc. (SCO).

The eagle, or “migizi” in Anishinaabe and “wambdi” in Dakota, is considered the messenger to the Creator, or the messenger between human beings and the Creator. The eagle was chosen as the logo for SCED LP to reflect the importance of a strong economy as a messenger of hope and prosperity.

The philosophy behind SCED LP is that we are better together! We value all elements of good business and fair partnerships, while sharing and implementing our core values in all aspects of what we do. Together, we can help build stronger businesses, thus putting SCED LP in a better position to help improve the economic and social wellbeing of our Anishinaabe and Dakota Nations and in fact, all Manitobans.

The first order of business for SCED LP is to establish long-term, strategic business partnerships with existing profitable Canadian companies, where a win-win relationship will be developed based on solid business practices, a growth strategy, and a mutual belief in our core values of honesty, respect, and humility.
